The knot stitch is an embossed stitch used in sewing and especially in embroidery. It is used in particular to make the heart of the flowers. 1. Tie a knot on the wrong side of the work, then pull the needle out from the right side. Then wind the thread two to three times around the needle.
2. Poke the needle near the end of the thread, then come out where you want to make the next knot. Make sure that the thread is always wrapped around the needle during the operation.
3. Pull the needle while keeping the thread taut at the other end to finish your first knot stitch.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to get your next knot stitch.
